Informal Funder Gathering on the sidelines of the Berlin Climate Security Conference (BCSC)
Germany, the Women's Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF), and the Community of Practice on Environment, Climate, Conflict, and Peace (ECCP) invite you to join a brief, informal funders gathering at 18h on 23 October in Breakout Room 1 (Willy-Brandt-Saal) for a moment of connection. We will gather for only 20-30 minutes to put faces to names, and then all will be invited to rejoin the reception.
This initiative follows last year, when at the end of the day-long BCSC, a group of about 20 individuals representing bilateral, multilateral, and private funds came together for a very brief round of introductions and connections.
There is no need to RSVP for the gathering, but we do hope you'll be able to join us. You are welcome to share this message with any other funders you know attending BCSC. Our only ask is that we limit this particular short conversation to funders only, and not expand the group beyond.

Over the past five years, progress has been made to interlink the global concerns for peace and climate action in international climate fora, including through the adoption of the Climate, Relief, Recovery and Peace Declaration at COP28 and the launch of the Baku Call on Climate Action for Peace, Relief and Recovery at COP29. These steps represent important progress, building on the increasing evidence that conflict-sensitive, gender-responsive, inclusive and collaborative climate action is integral to sustainable peace. Although peace is not on the official COP30 agenda, we remain committed to integrating peace and conflict sensitivity into climate change discussion. We call for continued action on relief, recovery, and peace at COPs, including through NDCs and NAPs, and urge the upcoming Presidency to center peace on the thematic program at COP31.
